Deputy Sheriff Walter Akers

Sheriff James T. Dana

Sheriff Cornelius Sage

End of Watch:  Wednesday, May 3, 1865
Tour of Duty:  5 months

Sheriff Sage was shot and killed when he and two associates were ambushed by Yavapai Apache tribe members.  The three were en route to Prescott, Arizona, on official business when the ambush took place.
