Lt. David McBride joined the Sheriff's Office in 1997 upon retirement as a Chief Warrant Officer from the United States Marine Corps after 22 years of service. As a quality officer he has worked in many job specialties at the Sheriff's Office including membership on the SWAT team as a sniper, a member of the entry team as well as the team leader.
McBride became the first motorcycle officer for Yuma County in 2000, later promoting to the rank of Sergeant in 2002. He served as the district sergeant in the Foothills until February of 2004 when he was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant. Upon his promotion, he assumed the duties and leadership as the West County Patrol Lieutenant. In October 2010, he was assigned as the Support Lieutenant overseeing the Criminal Investigations Bureau and the Yuma County Narcotics Task Force.
McBride is married with two children and a growing number of grandchildren.
