Nature of Work
Under close supervision, performs skilled work of moderate difficulty in repairing, maintaining, and rebuilding automotive and equipment.

Experience & Education
Three (3) years of recent experience in the maintenance and repair of equipment OR any combination of education, training, or experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.

Additional Requirements
This classification requires the applicant to successfully complete a background check, polygraph, and drug test prior to appointment; must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.

Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications

Knowledge of: Methods, practices, materials, instruments, and tools used in equipment maintenance; safety practices.

Skills in: Diagnosing and repairing problems of equipment fleet; using diagnosing equipment; using and care of various tools and equipment; performing a wide range of equipment repair; performing mechanical tasks; maintaining records and reports; establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with employees, other agencies, and the public; following written and verbal instructions; communicating effectively verbally and in writing.
