Aggravated Assault

 

Location of Incident: 2600 block of S. 19th Avenue - Yuma, AZ


On November 17, 2013, at approximately 8:34 p.m., the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence in the 2600 block of S. 19th Avenue in reference to shots fired.

During the initial investigation, it was learned that the victim had arrived at his residence and saw a vehicle parked in his driveway with the engine running. The victim stated that he walked to the side door of the residence and noticed that the screen door was open. As he approached the door, two male suspects ran from the back yard of the residence towards the vehicle in the driveway. The victim attempted to confront them and ran towards the vehicle, but the two suspects began to fire rounds from a handgun as the vehicle backed out of the driveway.

The two suspects are described as male and wearing black jackets. One of the suspects (driver) was wearing red shorts. The suspects were last seen driving an older model silver two door Honda or Toyota.

Multiple shell casings were located at the scene. No persons were injured or property damaged as a result of this incident.
