Injury Collision

Location of Incident: 2786 E. 16th Street, Yuma, AZ

On 03/15/2013 at approimately 1500 hours, the condition of the three year old was brought to the attention of the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office. The three year old is now in stable condition in the pediatric ward in Yuma according to hospital staff.

The Sheriff’s Office is now treating the gas as a hit and run. The suspect still has not been identifed at this time. The family of the victim is requesting for the public to respect their privacy while they get through this difficult time.

ORIGINAL RELEASE:
On 3/14/2013 at approximately 4:22 PM, a 3 year old child was struck while riding a child’s toy in the parking lot of a business in the 2700 block of E. 16th Street in Yuma. The child was transported by Rural Metro ambulance to Yuma Regional Medical Center with serious injuries.

The Sheriff’s Office is asking for assistance in locating a vehicle that may have been involved. The vehicle is described as a white in color newer model Ford single cab pickup. It was a flatbed style body with a black trailer attached. In the trailer was what appeared to be a water tank. The truck and trailer could be a farm vehicle. The driver was described as a Hispanic male adult, bald head who appeared to be in his thirties.
