Location of Incident: 11000 Block of South Avenue 9E, Yuma, AZ
On May 20, 2013 at approximately 11:50 p.m., the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office received multiple reports of shots fired in the area of the 11000 block of South Avenue 9E. Deputies responded to the area and upon arrival, a witness pointed out a vehicle matching the description of the vehicle reported being involved in the shooting disturbance. Two occupants were located in the vehicle and were secured in a high risk stop. The driver immediately confirmed that there were two weapons within the vehicle.
Deputies conducted a search of the area and discovered three spent casings in front of the area where the shots had been reported. The passenger of the vehicle, Mr. Victor Medina, was arrested and booked into the Yuma County Adult Detention Center for being a prohibited possessor. The driver was released pending follow-up investigation and search warrant on the vehicle.
No persons were injured or property damaged as a result of this incident.
