Two Vehicle Injury Collision

 

Location of Incident: Avenue 3E and E Highway 95 - Yuma, AZ


On 02/14/2014, at approximately 0615 hours, Deputies were dispatched to the intersection of Avenue 3E and E. Highway 95 in response to a report of a two vehicle injury collision.

The vehicles involved are a blue 1994 GMC Suburban and a red 1998 Mitsubishi Eclipse. The GMC was westbound on Highway 95 and the Mitsubishi was northbound on Avenue 3E when the GMC failed to stop at the red light at the intersection. The GMC struck the Mitsubishi on the passenger’s side. The Mitsubishi came to rest on the west side of Highway 95 and the GMC came to rest off the roadway. 

The GMC was being operated by Mr. Corey Milburn, 22 year old male from Yuma, AZ.  Mr. James Pollison, a 48 year old male from Yuma, AZ and Mrs. Angela Eklund, a 46 year old female from Yuma, AZ, were the front seat passengers in the GMC. All passengers were transported with life threatening injuries.

The Mitsubishi was being operated by Mr. Bernardo Reyes-Martinez, 35 year old male from Yuma, Arizona. Mr. Reyes-Martinez was transported to Yuma Regional medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

The cause of the incident is still under investigation and alcohol may have been a factor in the collision.
