On Monday, January 20, 2014 around 5:31 p.m., Yuma County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the area of Avenue 43E and E. County 8th Street after receiving a report of two stray horses in the roadway. The horses were located and one was determined to be a Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Mustang with a freeze brand and the other a Mustang as well, however no brands or markings were located.
Both are currently under the care of YCSO. The freeze-branded Mustang is under the jurisdiction of the BLM. If unclaimed, the non-branded Mustang will be turned over to the Arizona State Livestock Officer on Friday, February 21, 2014.
Anyone with information about the non-branded Mustang is asked to contact Sgt. Scott Bjornstad at 928-783-4427 or 928-342-1477.
