Public Records & Report Requests
The Yuma County Sheriff’s Office Records Department manages and maintains public law enforcement records originated by the department. Any person may request copies of a public record or report in accordance with Arizona Revised Statutes 39-121.01.

Request for records or reports may be submitted in person, by mail, and in some instances via email. The procedure for obtaining records and/or reports is outlined below.



Obtaining Copies of Public Records & Reports
Citizens wishing to obtain a public record or a copy of a report must complete and submit a "Public Records/Report Request Form". If you are submitting your request by mail, you must include a notarized copy of your picture identification and original signature along with the Public Records/Report Request Form. Report requests may take up to 14 days to process, depending on the nature of the incident and if the case is still under investigation. Most reports will be available 5 working days after the date the request was submitted. A representative from our Records Department will contact you when the report is ready for pick-up or to notify you that the report has been mailed to you.

If you are requesting photographs, you will be contacted once they have been processed with the total cost and when they will be available for pick-up.

Type of Records & Reports
Following are the various types records available:

Incident Reports
Most incident reports are available 14 business days after the date of the incident. This would include thefts, burglaries, auto thefts, etc.

Traffic Accident Reports
Most traffic accident reports are available 14 business days from the date of the accident. Once a report has been completed and submitted to the Records Department by the Deputy, it may take Records Staff an additional 72 hours to process your request. You may contact the Records Department at (928) 329-2254 to check on report availability.

EXAMINING OR RECEIVING COPIES OF ACCIDENT REPORTS/PUBLIC RECORDS FOR COMMERCIAL SOLICITATION IS PROHIBITED BY ARIZONA STATE LAW. (Arizona Revised Statute 28-667)

Adult Arrest Record
Citizens wishing to obtain a copy of their arrest record and/or booking photo must complete and submit a "Public Records/Report Request Form". A "Letter of Incarceration" is available upon request. There is no fee for a notarized letter.

*Reports, letters and photo CDs to be mailed require pre-paid postage.

Types of payment accepted: Cash, personal check, money order, cashier’s check, and credit/debit. Checks should be made payable to the Yuma County Sheriff's Office.
