The Yuma County Sheriff’s Office has no legal
authority to direct where a sex offender may or may not live. Unless
court ordered restrictions exist, the offenders are constitutionally
free to live wherever they choose.
Citizen abuse of this information to threaten,
intimidate, or harass sex offenders will not be tolerated. Sex
Offenders have always lived in our communities, but because of
Megan’s law, law enforcement is now able to share this information
with you.
The Yuma County Sheriff’s Office Sex Offender
Compliance Officer may be reached at (928) 329-2379 and is available to
help you join or start a Neighborhood Watch Program, as well as
provide you with useful information on personal safety.
