Selected applicants will be notified by email of testing date, time and location.
Please do not arrive more than 30 minutes prior to testing time. Testing will begin promptly at the time indicated. A Sheriff's Office representative will be present to assist you with checking in. Please be prepared to participate in a physical fitness test.
Any applicant who arrives late will not be allowed to participate in the testing process.
Please bring proper identification and come in gym clothes.
Suggested Study Materials: The GED preparation manual and Correctional Officer Preparation manual are available at the Yuma County Library. Get the manual that best suits the position you are applying for.

99-Yard Obstacle Course (DO, Deputy, Reserve Deputy): Run a 99-yard obstacle course consisting of several sharp turns, a number of curb height obstacles, and a 34-inch obstacle that must be vaulted.
Body Drag (DO, Deputy, Reserve Deputy): Lift and drag a 165-pound lifelike dummy a distance of 32 feet.
500-Yard Run (DO, Deputy, Reserve Deputy): Run 500 yards (equivalent to one lap plus 60 yards of a standard running track).
Chain Link Fence (Deputy & Reserve Deputy): Run five yards to a six foot chain link fence, climb over fence, continue running another 25 yards.
Solid Fence Climb (Deputy & Reserve Deputy): Run five yards to a six foot solid fence, climb over fence, continue running another 25 yards.
