Sheriff Francis Henri Goodwin

Dr. Francis H. Goodwin was appointed Sheriff by the Yuma County Board of Supervisors on April 7, 1873 to fill the vacancy upon the resignation of George Tyng. Having been appointed by county supervisors, Goodwin ran for Sheriff in the November 3, 1874 election; however, he was defeated by opponent William A. Werninger.
