The Sheriff’s Office has enjoyed long and mutually beneficial relationships of support with various federal, state and local law enforcement agencies. The Yuma County Jail District currently maintains inter-governmental agreements with the Cocopah Indian Tribe and the Quechan Indian Tribe for the housing and safekeeping of inmates under their jurisdiction while they await Tribal court disposition.
The Per Diem Billing Department is responsible for invoicing the various agencies for inmate housing. The agencies are billed on a monthly basis at the rate of $135.89 per inmate, per day.
